InQuire is recognised as a promising practise utilising diaspora potential

InQuire Evidence2Policy Hub was recognised as a promising practise in the mapping and research conducted within the ECONDIAS project. The project was implemented by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) and financed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR). ECONDIAS is a mapping study with the overall objective of enhancing the Western Balkan diasporas’ contribution to socioeconomic development in their countries of origin, with a focus on business diaspora and entrepreneurship, in order to increase the transfer of knowledge, skills, and investments. Case studies included the Western Balkans (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia) and five European settlement countries (each with selected migration corridors from WB6 that were investigated).

At the presentation of the regional research report and study for Bosnia and Herzegovina held on March 21st, 2023, in Sarajevo, it was emphasised that there are promising practises in utilising diaspora potential, but still, they are based on an ad hoc basis, and it seems that there is no strategic approach in all Western Balkans countries. Activities of the InQuire Evidence2Policy Hub in knowledge transfer from experienced researchers who are members of the diaspora to early-career researchers in Bosnia and Herzegovina were mapped as promising practises. The CREDI coordinator of the InQuire programme, Amela Kurta, participated in the discussion held during the presentation.
